About Us
Sheffield Cable Waterski is situated in the picturesque setting of Rother Valley Country Park in Sheffield.
We are open to the public throughout the summer months and offer waterskiing and wakeboarding on the cable from beginner to advanced levels.
The Cable Ski
What is a cable ski? Most people have heard of waterskiing, but expect a boat. The easiest way of describing how the cable ski works is by comparing it to a snow ski lift, it's supported by four towers around the lake and
rather than running up the mountain, it runs around the lake. The beauty of the cable is that
it is constantly running (doesn't need to stop for you to have your go) and up to 8 people can ski around at one time - making it a great social activity for riders and
spectators alike.
If you're learning to ski on the cable you'll benefit from the easy starting position on the dock (you can slide off from here on a kneeboard), for advanced riders we've got wakeboard and wakeskate obstacles in the
lake (kickers and sliders) which are permenanlty fixed, for skiiers a jump ramp (which was used for the Channel 4 programme "The Games" for two consequtive years), a slalom course plus we hold regular competitions, open to mixed ability levels, spectators welcome.
