Learn To Wakeboard
Wakeboarding is one of the world's fastest growing watersports,
and nowhere is it more accessible than on the cable. Our British Waterski Federation approved instructors will guide you through the learning
process from starting off on the dock to progressing around the corners of the cable ski and if you're ready for it, trying a few tricks on the water.
How easy is it to learn?
It really depends on your level of fitness and what you have done before (snowboarding and skateboarding help). If you haven't ever waterskied before, or haven't
waterskied on the cable we recommend learning to waterski first. If you are confident and want to go straight to wakeboarding try a few laps of the cable on a kneeboard at the start of your session just to help you get the hang of setting off and navigating the corners before having to think about
doing it all going sideways!. Rider's must be 12 years and over.
Do I need to book?
Unless you are booking for a large group (10 or more) there is no need to book, just arrive at the cable-ski on the day and book in at the cable ski desk inside the building.
If you are travelling a long way to get to us we recommend giving us a call first to check that we will be open as usual. See our Prices and Booking page for details of cost and opening times. If you want to book
for a group to learn to wakeboard see our Group's page for more information.
What to expect
When book in at the cable ski desk one of our instructors will then sort you out with kit (wetsuit, buoyancy aid, wakeboard - wakeboard hire is at an additional cost) and when you are changed they will instruct you on safety and how to navigate the course on a wakeboard - then it`s your turn to put it into practice on the water!. Participants must be 12 years and over.
What do I need to bring?
Wetsuit, buoyancy aid and equipment hire (excluding wakeboards) is included. You will need to bring swimwear to wear underneath your wetsuit and a towel and shampoo
for showering afterwards.
Can I use the Kickers & Sliders?
On a learn to wakeboard session we do not allow riders to use the obstacles in the lake. Once you progress to a good standard speak to one of our instructors
about using the obstacles. You will need to wear a helmet and have your own wakeboard (we don't allow the hire kit on the obstacles).
How can I find out more about wakeboarding?
See our Wakeboarding page for more information about the sport and competitions etc.
