Wakeskating
What is wakeskating?, well it looks a bit like wakeboarding without the bindings, but feels more like skateboarding. Wakeskating has
really taken off in popularity over the last couple of years. We've got a growing wakeskate community here at sheffield, sell wakeskates in our
on-site shop www.tenfeethigh.com and have a wakeskate section in our monthly Ten Feet High Series competitions.
Learning to wakeskate
If you've wakeboarded before you'll find the basics easy, but the tricks are more like skateboard tricks - if you can do
both, this could be the sport for you!. If you haven't ever waterskied before, but fancy wakeskating we strongly advise trying to get round the cable first
on a kneeboard before trying to wakeskate. See our learn to ski page for more details.
Buying a wakeskate
Wakeskates are pretty cheap to buy (in comparison to wakeboards) and start from roughly £100 each. Our on-site shop Ten Feet High has a large
selection of wakeskates to choose from and you can get advice from shop staff and skaters Rob Grainger (sponsored by Gator Boards) and Tim Johnson (Team rider).
Wakeskate Competitons
Our montly Ten Feet High Series competitions include a Wakeskate Jam section. There are also various other wakeskate
competitions throughout the UK, on boat and cable. Check out our news section for more details.
